Love all the fun papers that DCWV had this past Halloween in their glitter stack and it is so much fun to create with them
My GD C and GS I helped me out one day making Halloween Oreos and because we found that the candy melts don't take to food color so well we also made some candy clay pumpkins. I thought we could just change the white melts to orange with cake decorating food color so we had this lovely bowl of orange stuff that allowed the kids to make some crazy pumpkins.
Supplies-
pp DCWV and Fancy Pants, brads and ink from stash, ribbons from stash
I won't be scrapbooking for the rest of the week but hope to have two more layouts to upload early tomorrow depending on time.
Welcome to my Creative World with quiltmaking, scrapbooking, and most of all family and friends!

Hey! Chickie

This has to be my favorite layout I have done in a very long while.
Spring 2011 grson I and I went to the local Intermountain Farmers Association store to find seeds for Mr Creative to plant in the gardens. Look, they still have the baby chick-chicks for sale. Isaac found that they were shy and would run under cover when he tried to pet them but I helped him see that if he was patient they would come over to the feeding area in the pens. We looked at the different animal feed bags and he found the right one for chickens. He had a great time looking around the store at the farmer things.
I had these pictures printed for quite a while and even picked out the papers and supplies but they just sat until last night.
Somehow they managed to come together so easily for a change. I used a sketch for the basic design but of course had to adapt it to my pics and supplies.
Supplies: cardstock-bazzil and coordinations, brads American Crafts, ribbons All My Memories and Am Crafts, pp American Crafts and DCWV, circles cut with the Coluzzle

Funny Bunnies
For all my ranting and raving about scrapbook magazines I will say that I have found some ideas I just loved. LOL
Saw this in Scrapbooks Etc...I think the current issue... or at least a facsimile of what was in the magazine and just loved the simple look and funny bunnies. I used the bunny from the Doodlecharms Cricut Cart instead of the Animal Kingdom they used (since my DD has borrowed it) and a frame I bought using a 50% off coupon of course and just some stash papers. Then added the little flowers and button brads as my own touch.
I hate that you can see my reflection in the glass and should have taken the pic without the glass but oh well...
PS DS A saw the bunnies hanging on the wall in the living room and said...
Looks like you got tired of making a quilt and just put them in a frame! LOL I told him they were paper not fabric and he says to me...You have me "brainwashed" with quilt stuff! LOL
Just had to share the funny.

Harrisburg PA Quilt show LO
Finally something to show for the past couple of days at the scrap table!
These were from the same trip to PA. back in 2006 and the main reason we actually went, LOL, the quilt show and workshops.
If you remember a few posts ago I ranted about the layouts from magazines? These are the pages I was looking for inspiration for and why I was having SUCH a HARD time finding any. When I take pictures of a quilt show they are usually my favorite quilts for one reason or another such as the technique is special, or the colors or fabrics chosen are special or it is just a beautiful quilt to me so I WANT to use those pictures to remember the trip. Maybe I am just more of a visual person and would rather see 10 pictures rather than one "good" picture and a page of journaling?
Well anyway this layout (S) was a bit challenging as I wanted to focus on the photos and what I saw and was attracted to at this show.

I used the arrows to point out the enlarged photo for example on the lovely floral quilt those are 1" squares that make up the design!

A card for today...
One of the young couples in our church is getting married on Friday and since I had a challenge to do a "spring looking" card I thought it would be a good time to make their card.
Used a DCWV card stack and only had to add a greeting sticker and jeweled brad along with a stamp CTMH.
Now to pick out a gift! LOL
Three Days in a Row!
Gosh I can't believe I have posted layouts from three separate days! I usually don't do scrapping for that many days in a row! LOL
Anyway this is for a challenge...use felt, circles, red and bling on one page.Youngest DS brought me his stack of school ID's saying I am going to throw these away if you don't want to scrapbook them. They sat on my table for about a month and then with this challenge and an idea I already had in my head here is the layout!
Supplies:
PP from stash, cardstock from scrap stash, felt letters from craft store, sticker alphas from stash (maybe Making Memories?), glitter brads Oriental Trading

Valley Forge first two pages

Supplies
cardstock, Storytellers Kit, ink, title cut with my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook cart

The Card Inspector...and cards
Anyone who hasn't tried the One Sheet Wonders method of cardmaking really is missing out if you love to make cards! I think is originated with the Stampin Up Company as a way to sell product probably but whatever ,,,it works so nicely and even if you don't have a huge stash of scrapping/cardmaking supplies you can do this!
I did a search and found Mae Collins blog where she shows how to divide a 12x12 inch sheet of paper and then has some basic sketches of 15 cards you can make from that one sheet of paper...thus the One Sheet Wonders (OSW) name. I added a second piece of pp and a piece of cardstock along with some ribbon, flowers and brads along with ink and an acrylic stamps Christmas greetings set from Close to My Heart Company with a touch of glitter glue to a set of blank cards and envelopes and VOILA...15 cards!
Of course Muffy had to inspect the cards as I photographed them to make sure they didn't have any flaws! LOL

A Peek Under the Tree
Shaking is not necessary, as they aren't wrapped yet!
Finding something that I can make for my bonus grands isn't always easy but this time it sure was fun. LOL I had purchased these fiberboard hanging plaques last spring from Archivers clearance corner thinking I would let the kids create their own during Camp Nana but we just had way too much fun doing other stuff so they got shoved in the scrapbooking room closet for "later"...it's NOW later!
My goal was to use what I had on hand (which believe me is plenty and more) and try to capture a bit of the personality of each of the children in their name sign.
Since I am pretty sure these kids don't read my blog I thought I would share them but holding back on the two for my babies little I and little A until after Christmas.
I really did have fun picking colors and digging through my stash to see what I could use the hardest was N's because being a grown up 12 year old I didn't want it to be too kid like but yet have some fun. I have added more to his since I took this picture with some Snoopy stickers and a few ribbons on the wire handle.
Some of these supplies have been in my stash for years and years LOL
See it pays to have a good stash of supplies because you never know when it might come in handy! Oh yeah and I ended up buying two bottles of paint so that's pretty darn good for me.

Easter Part 2
Got this finished a few days ago and wanted to share with you all....
The rest of my Easter pages for 08 with our family. I tried to concentrate on coloring eggs on one page and the other is a bunch of photos that didn't fit the other pages! You can see big A finally and little I enjoying a plastic egg and then there is Belle and her "headband of humiliation" (so named by my friend Marilyn who has her Flatcoats wear the headbands on every holiday she can think of to honk off her DH... or so she says, LOL).
We had a fun Easter with little I and the kids to hunt the eggs and help with the coloring.
Supplies
DCWV cardstock and pp, other pp Costco stack, accents from Storytellers kits, inks Stampin Up

Should have been posted before the previous!
More pages from scrapping at DD's
Tummy time page is when baby A was spending time on his tummy instead of back, which is "required" now since the "old ways" are now out of date! "Back in the Day" we were told to have the baby on his tummy and then they would sleep better and not aspirate if they....well you know! LOL Anyway, A doesn't like tummy time to this day and always sleeps on his back. Kind of sad as there are no more little tushies in the air while they sleep on their stomach any more.
also a page of DSIL B with baby A...he just loves being a Daddy and is the best ever! I loved his laughing face as A tried to "nurse" LOL
Here is one of my favorite pages with kitties and puppies cut from my Doodlecharms cart and Storybook title. I also used some very old paper from AMM that I never used and then dd B had for a couple of years and never used but finally I decided to ignore the "photo mats" and just use the pages and I love how it turned out!Tummy time page is when baby A was spending time on his tummy instead of back, which is "required" now since the "old ways" are now out of date! Last of all a little play on words Labor Day...DD in the hospital as her labor began and then the Labor of Love page with newborn baby A!
Again used the Storybook cart for the titles and I think Walk in my Garden flowers?
Scrapping at DD's
I mentioned before that I did some pages for my Grson A while I was visiting TX. Dd wanted me to do some of his earliest pictures and I did. First is a layout of DH and baby A as the baby was fascinated by a Curious George balloon that I had used at the Open House the day before. He loved to watch it move in the air as the AC came on LOL
The next pages are of his blessing which is a religious ceremony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where the new baby is officially given a name and a special blessing from someone who holds the Priesthood...usually a father or grandfather but can be any male who has the Melchizedek Priesthood.
You will notice some blank spots and those are for pictures that I took that day and need to send dd B some copies. Then she can fill in the gaps and do the journaling.
Last ones of this post is when baby A had Jaundice and had to be in the Belirubin lamp for several days. He was such a teeny weenie guy and it was hard to make him sleep that way. B and B spent several nights on the floor with him while he slept.

All the supplies I used were mostly out of DD's stash and needless to say it is very tiny beside mine! LOL I used her Cricut and brought along my carts so that I could use what she had and not buy a bunch of stuff. I did buy the stripe paper in the first layout and the felt ribbon too. More pages in the next post

Thistles and Lucky
I guess I need to update what I have been up to the past few days since it is now Wed.
First for quilt stuff...
I am posting two of the four thistle blocks I need for the fall wallhanging from Jodi Warner's book A Year of Flowers. Probably the hardest in the book! LOL Unfortunately I have had trouble getting the top triangles to fit right into the block. The first one was bad but...the second was much worse and I tried very hard to get it right! Something is not working and I hope with block 3 I can figure it out. I know it will be a great quilt once it is done but whew!
Next project I finished is a layout from my parents' and sister's visit from early this past summer. I had some great shots of baby A with them and I knew they were exactly what I wanted to do about family.First for quilt stuff...

Sunday, Sunday...
Got up this morning late unfortunately...and guess what? Snow!
Yuck, way too early for me but then again maybe it got the first one out of the way and Halloween day is safe LOL
However bye the time I got home from church it had melted away but watching the news found out that some areas in northern Utah got as much as 11 inches! Good thing it didn't stay very long.
Good day to take a nap and just relax right?
I decided it was a good day to make the invites to our family Halloween "party" to give to the grkids. They each get one and it was a good time to play with my new Storybook Cricut cart. I played around with sizes and this is the final result.
Kind of cute but wish I had some "real" orange to use but it was a good thing to stick to my stash.
Oh and I pulled out the old bottle of glitter glue for the sparkly stars...who needs Stickles LOL

Last night or was it early this morning?
I had these pictures sitting on the scrap table and knew I wanted to do a one page layout to even up the scrapbook LOL
I loved the interaction between B and baby A. I didn't think this page needed any fancy decoration or a lot of words either so it went very quickly and Oh NO, I am using flowers on a boy page LOL
Supplies
papers, Big Lots, ribbon AMM set, flower and big brad QVC flower kit, word stickers Pebbles in my Pocket.

One of my blog friends Nedra showed this darling pot holder she made and I thought well my friend C can help me figure out how to make it! C used her Electric Quilt and drafted the witch face and then I just added the borders and back and voila a hot pad!
I used leftover bits and pieces from my stash and I just love that fossil fern green face! LOL Paint for the eyes and easy as can be.
Thanks for the inspiration Nedra!

Along with all the quilting...
I did a scrapbook layout too! I had this idea for a few days as I looked at these pictures of all the adults on ourside of the family with our little baby "A" not long after he was born or just a few weeks old. That old 60's song Neverending Love just kept going through my mind and so useing a sketch for inspiration I played around until it came together.
I used part of a kit from Storytellers, cardstock and ink from CTMH and cut the title and hearts with my cricut using Making the Grade and Graphically Speaking. When I was done I realized I had just used the pic of big A and little A on a different page so I might switch it out.

SB page and card
I left this layout on my scrapping table when I left for Ogden last week and I finally finished it up. I used a sketch from Page Maps
The card is for a challenge with the CTMH monthly order group I am with. We used a sketch and had to use at least one CTMH product on the card. I used the dotted border and the arrow stamps for the card and it will go to my DIL who just had her birthday!as my inspiration for the page and used flowers (gasp) again! LOL
I had picked up some Thickers from somewhere recently and used them for the title. Papers are from DCWV paper and cardstock stacks and the quote is also from DCWV's warehouse sale a couple of years ago.

Another A Grad Layout
Funny when I was taking all thes pictures I thought most of them wouldn't be great but I have had to scrapbook most of them LOL
Took these Grad Day morning and just in case you don't recognize the instrument he is playing it is called a Digerydoo (spelling). His favorite celtic type band Wicked Tinker has a guy who plays and before we knew it he ordered one online and has been playing around with it for a while.
Supplies
cardstock, pp from Costco stack, kit elements from Storytellers Kits, cork letters Target Dollar spot.

Sunday's Scrapbooking Pages
Well, after over two months of no scrapbooking I finally set up my table in the guest/scrapbook room once more and jumped in for some pages.
Worked on big A's graduation pages and some of baby A too.
the supplies for baby A's page came from Big Lots mostly or at least the paper is from there but you sure can tell it is a discount paper as it is very flimsy LOL but still so cute with the photos!
Love my little guy and his little old man look of just a few days old.
I have more photos for family on graduation day with big A but they are hiding out somewhere. So the last page is very much NOT done yet.
Anyway enjoy and one day I will figure out how to do a slideshow LOL
